Our History

In 2018, Judy Wright, music director of San Marco Catholic Church, and Kathleen Osborn Gerdes, music director of Wesley United Methodist Church, combined their choirs to celebrate Lenten worship. That fall, they began recruiting singers from congregations in the Marco Island area to create an ecumenical group, the Marco Island Community Chorus, which has since performed eight worship services and has grown to represent eight Christian communities on Marco Island and the surrounding Naples area.

Depending on the time of year, the group boasts between 40 and 60 singers, and presents worship services at Advent and during Lent. The chorus is accompanied by a pianist, organist, and an orchestra comprised of both student and professional musicians.
